Happy Valentine's Day!
This is a fun freebie to use as a Math Center. I like to use this center with heart candies such as cinnamon hearts.
-18 number cards (3-20)
-Printable Gift Box counting mat
You will need to cut and laminate the cards
How to Use:
You will need to purchase heart candies to go along with this. You could also substitute candies with heart pictures or anything heart shaped that would be 'hands on' for the students. Set up a center station in your classroom (preferably on the table). I like to count out 20 candies for students and put in small bag so that they have their own candies to work with and can keep. Students will draw a card with a number on it. They will count out that amount of candies and begin to distribute them between the two gift boxes on their mat. On their worksheet, in the heart, they can record the number they chose. Then, they will record three addition sentences that go along with that number. For numbers 3 and 4, there will only be two addition sentences.
This is a fun and edible Valentine's Day math center! Enjoy!
