Explore how increasing exercise affects your heart rate. This low prep lab is lots of fun. Great for teaching the scientific method, variables, and graphing. Teachers will appreciate the ease of use and students will love getting active in class. Perfect for health and wellness, PE, human body units, and as a science fair project.
This is the 4th/5th Grade Version.
Students will follow the scientific method to answer the question. Students will brainstorm their prior knowledge to write a hypothesis. They will learn how to take their pulse and calculate the beats per minute. Students will integrate their math skills to calculate the mean of each trial and create a bar graph. Thank you for taking the time to look at my investigation journal. For educators teaching multiple grade levels please check the corresponding k-1st and 2nd/3rd-grade journals. They are great for homeschool educators teaching several grades at one time.
