Students work in teams and create a human heart using masking tape (or other material) on the hallway floor. Each member of the group must then start in the right atrium and simulate how a red blood cell would move through the valves/chambers/vessels/ on its way to the lungs, back to the heart and to the entire body and back to the right atrium. The student must name the chamber/vessel/valve as they pass through and deliver oxygen along the way. great way to remember/teach the flow of blood through the heart and body. also by grading the team. there is pressure on each member to learn it. includes student instructions and two rubrics one for the model itself and one for the students "walk". students get very creative with oxygen delivery systems and models. have seen students use emergency doors as valves.... etc.
