This product is designed to target social skills and is great for pragmatic language or counseling groups focusing on perspective taking, expected/unexpected behaviors, social rules, emotions, and manners. Students can identify if various scenarios demonstrate heart warming or heart breaking behaviors, discuss how those actions might make others feel, and determine how to turn a heart breaking behavior into a heart warming behavior. In the writing expansion activity students can either select a card and write about why it is heart breaking or heart warming or they can create their own situation to write about.
Included in this download are:
2 sorting mats - one for "heart breaking" and one for "heart warming"
40 social situation cards revolving around February related events
1 writing activity
All sorting mats and social situation cards are in black and white for easy low ink printing.
Place the Heart Breaking and Heart Warming sheets on the table and then read/hand the 40 scenario cards to students. After students hear each situation they must decided which sheet to place the card on.
