This activity is one I adapted from some partial prompts and commentary on a Discovery Education lesson plan.
I have used this activity at the end of my instruction for Heart of Darkness. This is a novel students often have a difficult time understanding along the way. Once they have finished reading it, however, the story begins to make sense to them in a new light.
Giving them an opportunity to not only recreate the ending, but also to mimic Conrad's style allows students the chance to make deeper connections to the novel as well as the author's tone.
