Celebrate "Hearts Day" by having your students create a Valentine's Day Figurative Language Booklet!
Heart-to-Heart is a fabulous and festive activity to practice, review, and/or assess students' knowledge of figurative language and its various forms (simile, metaphor, hyperbole, onomatopoeia, personification, alliteration, & idiom)! Kiddos will create a booklet page for each type of figurative language previously mentioned. On each page, they will record the definition of the kind of language highlighted, create a Valentine's Day related sentence with an example of that type of language, and illustrate their words. Heart-to-Heart is perfect for a language arts center, whole class assignment, or as a classroom Valentine's Day celebration activity! Prior knowledge of figurative language is helpful.
I hope you and your students will FALL in LOVE with this project!
