This powerpoint is an inclusive all-in-one guide to your introductory heart rate unit geared towards upper elementary/middle school students. This resource will take your students through a unit designed to teach them the concepts of affect of exercise type on heart rate, exercise intensity and heart rate zones. While students are participating in class, have this displayed in the front of your gym for as a guide for both you and your students. Based on a 2 day per week PE schedule with 45-minute lessons, this resource will cover everything your students need to know in a 5-week unit. Complete with built-in warm ups, intro of concepts, review of concepts, debriefs/checks for understanding, activities and closures already written for you! This resource can be used in conjunction with student-worn heart rate monitors or without them. Use this powerpoint in conjuction with the Heart Rate Journals, Heart Rate Worksheets and Heart to Heart Unit Block Plan.
