Sun – The biggest example of heat energy in our Solar System. The Sun’s heat warms up Earth and us.

Boiling Water – Boiling water contains heat energy hot enough to cook food.

Stove – Anything placed on a stove and warmed, whether a pot of tea or a frypan cooking bacon, also becomes a source of heat energy.

Toaster – A toaster radiates heat that turns a piece of bread into toast.

Heater – A heater in a home provides radiant heat energy to warm a house during cold winter months.

Lightning – A bolt of lightning contains enough heat energy to start a fire.
