Heat Transfer: Conduction, Convection, and Radiation

I use this reading after teaching the states of matter and density, because a thorough understanding of both concepts is necessary to understand consuction and convection! This can be a homework or a class reading to reinforce understandings gained through presentations, videos, demonstrations, and hands-on experiences. Conduction, convection, and radiation are defined, and each method of heat transfer is illustrated with examples. Students demonstrate understanding by reiterating the definitions, finding one example of each method from the reading, and coming up one example on their own.
