This packet includes graphic organizers for students to record their observations of matter while heating and cooling the matter. Observations include: melting chocolate, melting an ice-cube, melting ice-cream, popping popcorn, cooking an egg, freezing a leaf, and toasting bread. You can either do all of the observations or just choose the ones you want to do. It also includes a table for students to record their findings as to if the heating and/or cooling are reversable or not. As an end of the unit project students will describe what they have learned by making a picture book! This packet includes a check-list to help guide students in making their picture book! By completing this packet students will learn Next Generation Science Standard: 2-PS1-4: Construct an argument with evidence that some changes caused by heating or cooling can be reversed and some cannot!
