My students love listening to content rich, engaging read alouds. I am constantly trading out QR codes and read alouds through the weeks based on the holiday's and what we are learning in class! Helen Lester is an outstanding author that has many popular books among primary students. My students love the hilarious animal characters!
All the QR codes are linked to an Safeshare.tv to ensure your students are safe on the Internet! Students will simply scan the code with a scanning device (iPod, iPad, or iPhone), press play, and listen to the read aloud.
I have included a layout that can be cut into task cards. I use the card version in my classroom and the kids love it! I laminate the cards, put them on a binder ring, and store them close to our listening devices.
These codes are awesome for most primary grades. My first graders use them every day with little to no direction. They are perfect for Listen to Reading during a Daily Five block.
The following books are included:
-Tacky the Penguin
-Three Cheers for Tacky
-Tacky and the Emperor
-Tackylocks and the Three Bears
-Tacky and the Winter Games
-Tacky in Trouble
-A Porcupine Named Fluffy
-Hooway for Wodney Wat
-Wodney Wat's Wobot
-It Wasn't My Fault
-Score One for the Sloths
-Pookins Gets Her Way
-Tacky Goes to Camp
-Tacky and the Haunted Igloo
The code links can become broken. If that happens, please let me know and I will fix them immediately! I also caution you on printing in color and laminating. With as often as the codes break, I don't want you to become frustrated with having to redownload : )
