Description
This is an engaging activity designed to help students understand 2D shapes and their classifications. Students often master shape names, but have a hard time understanding when and why a shape can be called multiple things. For example, it is hard to grasp why a square is a rectangle, but a rectangle is not always a square.
During this activity, students will work through a set of name tags naming all shapes that fit the description. They will notice that some shapes fit with multiple descriptions, meaning they have multiple classifications.
