A worksheet I used to practice phone dialogues and modal verbs with my 9th and 10th grade ESL students who were all obsessed with the song "Hello" at the time.
The sheet includes a link to a video clip fro Ellen Degeneres' talk show in which she pretended to be on the other line of Adele's phone call. Students first tried to guess which of Ellen's phrases belonged in which place in the exchange. Then, we watched the video a few times for them to check their answers.
Following the listening activity, students used modal verbs to give advice to Adele and Ellen about their phone etiquette.
Finally, students did a short reading on the story behind "Hello" with some reading comprehension questions.
