When you have several students who need help at the same time, what do you do? If your students are anything like mine, they'll sit there with their hands up not working until you help them. Here's a great little sign for them to use to indicate when they need help, and it keeps them working until you can get to them. Simply fold the sign at the dotted lines until it forms a rough triangle. The HELP NEEDED sign is bigger so the ends won't meet. Students can then prop the sign up when they need help, with the HELP NEEDED side toward the teacher and the KEEP WORKING side facing themselves. I keep these stuck under student desks or pass them out if I know they'll be doing a lot of independent work during the class period. No more wasted time. HELPFUL HINT: I like to print mine on card stock so they will last longer.
