The attached PPT was used at a family literacy night at a Title I elementary school earlier this school year. The tips are pretty easy to implement and you can also use the PPT in your class, when meeting with parents, or as something to email home to help improve student reading abilities.
PREVIEW: The preview has a few slides to show you more of the content from the PPT.
In the PPT, research is shared about how parents' positively impact the success of their children, which ties to the strategies shared. I made the reading bookmarks to hand out to parents and students (link is in the PPT). Also, there is a slide about me that I left so you have an easy model available to just add in your own information, if you'd like. All information is adjustable to fit your school. :)
This presentation took me less than 15 minutes to implement and parents were excited to have ideas on how to help their children.
