Our decisions are the single most consequential way that we can improve (or undermine) our own lives. For example, selecting a college major is one decision that can be an especially stressful experience for students and the family members who support them because it can have life-changing consequences.
This handout can help them work on a thoughtful approach to choosing a college major so their futures are more likely to unfold in ways they prefer. In addition to learning the general steps of a decision making process, students will also learn how to apply these skills to selecting a college major and other choices they'll face throughout their lives:
Walk through the skills on this handout when you're presenting to whole classes, meeting with individual students, and talking to parents about getting prepared for college!
