This assignment sets up the scenario of a class that is completely out of control with no respect shared between the students and the teacher. With that context, students will have to use the values from one of the ancient Chinese Belief Systems (Confucianism or Legalism) in order to solve the problems within the classroom. Students will create edicts in order to bring order. The values of the assigned belief system must be reflected within the edicts. This assignment will culminate in a classroom debate concerning which belief system is more effective.
