This is a nice little introduction to the types of thoughts that one may experience during a stressful or bad situation. We use a popular sport star for added attention and interest. You may have HELPFUL or UNHELPFUL thoughts. We teach that HELPFUL thoughts tend to decrease bad feelings and bring relief, whereas UNHELPFUL thoughts may increase those strong negative feelings. Additionally the lesson has 4 slides for your student to decide if they are HELPFUL or UNHELPFUL thoughts and a 5th for them to come up with their own HELPFUL thought. Kids catch on to this concept very quickly in my experience.
