My test for Ernest Hemingway's The Sun Also Rises, is five pages long, and is broken down into two sections. You can choose to give the entire test to students after reading, or to give the first half after chapter 9, and the second half after finishing the book.
This is mostly a multiple-choice test (Scantron-ready), focusing on characters, important quotes, major plot points, and Hemingway's use of irony and sarcasm.
Instead of essay questions, the final page asks students to produce "concise remarks" about the novel and characters, in the spirit of Hemingway's spare style of writing.
*5/5 Revision: I HAVE ADDED AN ANSWER KEY! I have also fixed some typos, re-formatted the numbering to number the questions 1-50 instead of 1-26 and 1-24 (I suggest using the same Scantron the second time, if you can!), edited some questions for clarity and added a new question near the end.
