Product Description
Supply students with a list of the animals you want them to sort.

You may also consider supplying students with pictures or illustrations of animals to cut out and glue into the appropriate category. This is especially helpful for students with writing deficits and difficulties. It also reaches visual learners and makes for a more interactive, hands-on, tactile experience.

This chart could be laminated and enlarged and used as a whole group activity. Simply assign each student an animal and have them research and determine whether it is a herbivore, omnivore, or carnivore. This activity could be done similarly on an Elmo, SmartBoard, or other projection system.

Use this activity at a science center, as part of an assessment cycle (pretest, checking for understanding, and posttest), as a part of an interactive notebook, as a notetaking guide, or in small groups.

This product includes the sorting guide sheet and a usage guide.
