Product Description
Grade 3 Social Studies Mapping Game (Alberta curriculum) by Bruce Fawcett

In this game, students move their own game piece from Canada to each of the four countries: Peru, Tunisia, Ukraine and India before returning back to Canada. Along the way, they try to answer questions (Globe Cards) which reinforce the relative location and distance of these countries from each other and Canada. Other questions ask about the bordering countries and some of their geological features (tallest peaks, longest rivers, etc.) The name and location of the capital cities of each of these four countries is also reinforced. Level 1 cards mostly ask distance and direction questions and are worth 1 point. Level 2 cards earn two points and reference other world countries. Level 3 cards ask further topographic region features (i.e. mountain, plain, desert, plateau, steppe, rainforest) and relative size questions (comparing relative size (area) of the countries compared to Alberta and Canada) and are worth 3 points.
Game parts include:
high resolution images of the gameboard
printable student scoresheets
printable game rules/instructions
COMBO-SPINNER template
250 GlobeCard files - sized to fit AVERY 5371 business card sheets
