After teaching SER with characteristics I wanted to keep the students practicing with SER and adjectives but there is really only so long they can describe hair color, origin, etc. So, I created this brief hero unit, which can be done in 2 days if needed. I created a vocabulary list about the characteristics/descriptions of a hero so students can utilize SER and can write about heroes in their own life. I then created a HW assignment where they write a structured poem and I included a rubric that I use to grade it. Additionally, I included a PowerPoint with questions about heroes in the community/world to get the entire class talking.
