Approximate class time needed: 20-30 min.
This works well for struggling readers and writers in middle and high school. If you choose to purchase this, you will get a Microsoft Word file that you can edit to meet your specific needs if you wish.
To prepare, make copies of the two-sided Heroes…Hero…Heroine worksheet. *TECH Version: Put it on Google Classroom as an assignment and set it up so that each student receives their own copy.
This is where students begin notetaking to describe their hero. Give them time to think and begin writing, it takes some kids a while to get started. Play some music if you like, that could set the mood.
After they finish this worksheet, it could be a springboard for journal writing or for a larger project. If you like it, you might be interested in the full lesson, Hero Project on TeachersPayTeachers.com from rdhedtech, that includes vocabulary flash cards, “My Money” currency, PowerPoints and more.
