Hershel and the Hanukah Goblins as told by Eric Kimmel is a wonderful story of community and the holidays. It is the story of a man looking forward to the upcoming village so he can enjoy potato latkes for the holiday. He finds that the community is plagued by goblins who will not let them celebrate and Hershel comes to their aid.
In the packet you will find activities for first, second and third grade students. There are three different graphic organizers with and without lines as well as one with space to draw pictures. There are two different comprehensions sets one for first grade and the other for second or third grade, depending on the level of the students you are working with. There is also a writing activity where students can create their goblin (parts included) and then write about it following the prompt. There are two writing papers as well,
