This is a great way to make fractions hands on in your classroom! Model breaking the Hershey Bar into the different fractions... twelfths, sixths, fourths, thirds, and halves. I give each student their own Hershey Bar and we work together through these worksheets. Students can shade in the fractional part on the Hershey Bar image that is beside each fraction.
This packet comes with an introductory note sheet that you will guide your students in completing. There are also worksheets for each fractional part of the whole that have space to add in the equivalent fractions. I guide the students to discover the fraction equivalence and that if they eat six twelfths of the chocolate, it is the same amount as one half (and so on). After this fun exploration of equivalent fractions, there is a word problem page that you can use as classwork or a quick assessment.
*ANSWER KEY INCLUDED FOR THE WHOLE PACK*
