Page 6 – The Ants Are Hiding (print, laminate and cut out – students describe where the ants are hiding.
Page 7-8 – Save the Ants – an open-ended activity to use with your own skill cards – print several copies. Each card has 1, 2, or 3 ants – students try to collect as many ants as possible – I have the students give the number of responses indicated by the number of ants. If the student gets a card showing the ants getting squished, they lose that number of ants. The student with the most ants left at the end of the game wins.
Page 9-16 – Ants in Your Pants – print, laminate, and cut out the cards. The cards have a picture with an idiom. You can have them use the idiom in a sentence and explain its meaning. If the student gets an Ants in Your Pants card, you can either have them lose one card or get up and circle the table (like they have ants in their pants)!
