My students loved completing these worksheets as they read Hooray for Fly Guy! This file has six worksheets that can be completed both independently and with partners. Each chapter has one page of comprehension questions and one page of "Word Work." Each comprehension page has 4 questions and students are required to "prove" their answers by writing the page number on which they found their answer. Each Word Work page is different, but they deal with skills like parts of speech, singular and plural nouns, and words with different sounds (ex. /ed/ words and /oi/ words). My students loved the challenge of the Word Work page and also enjoyed that it was something different. I often let them read the chapter together and then complete the worksheets with their reading buddies, but these could be done independently, as well. I have also included a list of "preview words" to go over with students before allowing them to read the chapters on their own. These are words that students (especially younger students) may not be familiar with before reading the book.
