P. 3 Try to Catch Your Spelling Words!– after unscrambling the spelling words the students will separate the words based on the suffixes.
P, 4 Look for Your Words to Know! – students find the words to know and color them the matching color. Words will cross so they will have multicolored words.
P. 5 Suffixes! Adding –y, -ly, -ful to a base word – The students will add a suffix to the base word to create a new word. Then they color the ribbons depending on the word’s suffix.
P. 6 Roll a Silly Sentence! –students will roll a dice for each part of the sentence. Depending on what number the students get, they will write a sentence with a noun, an adverb, a verb, and a prepositional phrase. They will write two sentences on the lines provided.
P. 7 Characters - write what Fly Guy and Buzz feel, say, and do.
P. 8 Adverb fold book – students fold the book and do the different activities for the different types of adverbs
P. 9-10 Prefix –un flip book – students cut on dotted lines and staple the base words on top of the word ‘kind’ to see how the prefix –un can change the base words
P. 11 Do You Think Fly Guy is Smart? Why? - opinion writing
P. 12-15 What Bug Would You Enter into the Amazing Pet Show? Creative writing and craft project.
P. 16-20 Catch Fly Guy - High frequency word practice. Students read the words and keep them in their pile – unless they get stung by a bee – then they have to return some of their cards to the main pile –the person with the most high frequency word cards at the end of the game wins - this game can be laminated.
