Product Description
As I was on the hunt for resources to teach my students about hibernation, I realized that there aren't very many out there that include REAL pictures of the topic. To help my students reach the rigorous Common Core State Standards, I want to provide them with non-fiction resources that will connect them to the world around them. This is why I created this Hibernation Non-Fiction pack loaded with REAL pictures of hibernating animals and true information about them.

Here's what's included in this hibernation pack:

Pg. 2-10: Vocabulary cards (includes a word card, a definition card, and a picture card for 8 words)
Pg. 11-18: Large posters featuring real pictures of hibernation (included are hibernation, bear, hedgehog, bat, squirrel, biologist, body temperature)
Pg. 19-22: Informational texts about hibernation (these are great to read to your students to kick off your hibernation unit, to provide students as an extension, or as non-fiction research pieces when studying winter topics)
Pg. 23-29: Napping in Winter (includes one close read text and five close read questioning graphic organizers)
Pg. 30-32: Squirrels Mini-Close Read (includes one mini close read text PERFECT for young readers and ELLs who are just beginning to get the feel for looking closely at a text, and one questioning page)
Pg. 33-35: Photographs (pictures of hibernation animals)
Pg. 36-38: Extras (hibernation writing page, exit ticket)
