Animals are getting ready to hibernate...why not 'hibernate' some pictures around your room for a fun read the room center!
Are you searching for a fun new way for your students to practice identifying initial sounds?
Want a center that is little to no prep but has your little explorers up and about?
Need a center that can be used several ways and can be differentiated?
This hibernation themed 'read the room' activity will engage your independent learners and they will have no idea they are practicing identifying initial sounds in words!
The center can also be used as a 'stationary' center rather than count the room. Place cards in baskets or buckets rather than tape around the room!
Use it in a fall/winter sensory bin too! Fill your bin/bucket with artificial leaves, corn, oats, cotton balls, etc! Add the cards! Students pick a card and then record the initial sound letter on the recording sheet!
Use it for early finishers basket too!
This Pack Includes:
*Directions/Suggestions for use
*12 Numbered Picture Cards with a Hibernation Theme
*3 recording sheets (for differentiation)
~write letter, circle letter, trace letter
Directions/Suggestions For Use:
Print and laminate cards. Tape cards around the room for a ‘read the room’ activity or they can be placed in a basket/bucket on a table for a stationery center activity.
Students look at the picture, say the name of the object, find the number on the card/recording sheet and write the letter that
matches the initial sound.
Choose the recording sheet that best matches the skill level of your students- write the letter, circle the correct letter or trace the letter.
