Product Description
Hundreds Boards are an amazing, simple tool which can be used to teach a variety of math skills. I used the hundreds board for counting, skip counting, comparing numbers, money, adding and subtracting, multiplication, and problem solving.

Hidden Animal Pictures is a tool I created to engage students as we use the hundreds board to solve problems and develop our skills. This tool can be used with all elementary students as you can vary the complexity of the clues the students are given. To use this product, cut and hide the pieces to the animal picture under the numbers on your hundreds chart. Give your students clues to locate and find different pieces of the puzzle. For example, students in kindergarten and first may be solving clues that involve 10 more or 10 less, 1 more or 1 less. As their skills develop, the clues can also become more involved. What is 20 more than 52? More challenging clues included I am a number between 10 and 20. I am an even number. The sum of my two digits is 7. What number am I? {16}. This activity can be completed in one day or over several days and you build anticipation for what will be in this hidden picture.

With this bundle of hidden animal pictures, you will receive over 30 animals that are available in 2 sizes allowing you to use large pictures or smaller pictures. All of the animals have guide lines to allow you to easily print and cut pieces ready to fit your hundreds pocket chart. Simply hide the pieces behind the numbers, give your students clues, and they will begin revealing the pictures. Sample clues, detailed instructions, and pictures are included in the download. Due to the different levels of students, clues are not provided for each animal. Rather I’ve included several examples to get you started.

Is your hundreds board missing numbers or does it need an updated look? Download my numbers for the hundreds chart. I printed mine on bright pink and lime green paper to give my numbers a bright look.
