Product Description
I came up with this game years ago, but I just now got around to posting it on TPT. Hidden Heart is a therapy tool that should be in every SLPs bag of tricks, because it is so versatile! I have used it with virtually all of my groups, as it can be adapted to work on a variety of skills.

NOTE: You will need a 100 pocket Number Pocket Chart to use this product. (I recommend sending out an e-mail to the teachers at your site -- odds are there is one not being used that they'll pawn off on you!)

In essence, this game is 20 questions. But it is so much more than that! Just by playing, here are some sample goal areas that are being AUTOMATICALLY targeted: Formulating questions beginning with Do/Does/Can/Is, Categorization, Critical Thinking, Process of elimination (Test-taking skills!), Memory, Vocabulary, Location concepts.

To set up the game, select 100 of the picture icons and place them inside the pocket chart. Hang up the pocket chart in a place where all students can see it. Hide the included heart icon behind one of the picture icons while having students look away. Then have the students take turns asking questions to narrow down the location of the heart. Make sure they don’t try to guess individual icons (e.g., “Is the heart behind the cat?”), but ask generalized questions (e.g., “Is the heart behind an animal?”). Only YES/NO questions are allowed It is so simple, yet so effective!! This activity has been a favorite among my students and can be adapted as an incentive activity, as well. I also use it with my articulation and fluency groups to work on carryover.

Here is what's included:
❤ 220 picture icons
❤ 20 assorted heart and star icons (you can always call it Hidden Star :) )
❤ 5 visual guides with sample questions to cue students
❤ Instruction and activity guide
❤ EDITABLE template so you can add your own pictures

Please check out the preview and video to get a better understanding of how this game works.
