The PreK-5 math curriculum modules for New York State, "A Story of Units," on EngageNY reference "hide zero cards"
The following pages contain hide zero templates that you can use to model place value for your students.
The trick is that you want to layer the cards so that the largest place value is on the bottom. So copy and paste the largest place value first, and then work in order to the smallest place value. The slides are arranged in that order to help you remember. You can use these cards with a number bond to show how to break down the number according to place value.
