Practicing fraction concepts is fun with this engaging set of 45 Hide and Seek Fraction Flip Cards! There are fifteen cards for each theme (pizza, chocolate chip cookies, and lemonade stand), and they cover halves, thirds, fourths, fifths, and sixths. The cards provide a way for students to independently practice and check their work. Students examine fraction pictures, write the corresponding fraction, and then check their own work.
This activity works well as a “Math By Myself” activity in Daily 3 Math, or as independent work within a math workshop model.
To prepare the materials, print cards on cardstock and laminate. Cut the cards apart, and fold the right section of each card to cover the numeral. Secure with a clothespin, binder clip, or paper clip. Copy recording pages for students.
