Dolch Sight Words
These multicultural hand sight word cards are designed to provide daily practice to your kindergarten and first grade students in reading Dolch sight words. After laminating and cutting out the hands, tape your weekly (or daily) words next to the doorway. As students exit the room, they can choose a word to “high five” as they pass. As the students give the word card a high five, they should say the word aloud (or in a whisper) to help ingrain the word in their memory.
I have included kindergarten and first grade common core standards to post near the high five word cards if you choose.
Please see the preview file for a list of the included Dolch words. There are 133 hand cards with the words from the Dolch pre-primer, primer, and first grade lists. I have also included 8 (non-editable) blank hands on which you can write your own words. Each word is also included on a black and white hand at the end of the file.
