Using McGraw-Hill Wonders series, help your students become fluent readers while studying their high frequency words.
Each week students have a sheet with the high frequency words listed, a spinner to tally the words and a place to graph their high frequency word results.
A class chart displaying the words is also included. I plan to enlarge it 129% on the copier for a larger chart to hang.
My students will complete this activity during their Word Work (Daily 5). I will instruct them how to use a paper clip as a spinner for the activity and require it completed three times a week. Each unit includes 5 different graphs. Types include: vertical bar graph, pie chart, comparison chart, horizontal bar graph and ordering chart.
This hands on activity that will allow students to practice frequently used words in a quick, structured routine.
Page will be stored in Daily 5 student book boxes and turned in at the end of each week.
