Looking to spice up your sight word or high frequency word instruction? These Play-Doh sentence frames are a great way to have kids interacting with high frequency words in a hands-on way. These sentences can be used during whole class instruction, small group instruction/guided reading, or at literacy centers! I like to put mine out at centers to re-enforce our new words each week!
These are designed with pictures so that students don't have to have much in the way of prerequisite phonics knowledge in order to learn their new words. There are a few high frequency words that have a CVC and picture version for differentiating.
Each sheet teaches two high frequency words (though can easily be cut in half if you only want to teach one of the words). There are 67 words taught total in the product, not including repeats for differentiation (see above). I chose the words based on most frequently occuring words in K-1 texts. Students use their Play-Doh to form the word and add it to the sentences, and then read the sentences through when they are finished. My students love to read their sentence to friends or on Seesaw!
