This is a fun game for students learning and practicing their sets of high-frequency words. I like to use them with small groups or in centers with partners. These cards are also perfect to use as flash cards when assessing students.
Players take turns drawing a card and reading the sight word. If they're correct, they keep the card in front of them. If incorrect, the card goes to the bottom of the pile. If a "Snip!" card is drawn, the player draws another card from the pile to read. If a "Snap!" card is drawn, the player returns all his/her cards to the pile. (You
may change that to only losing one card per "Snap!" card.) This is the fifth set in a series of 9 sets of sight words.
Even though each game in this series is played in the same way, the children enjoy moving up to each new set of words to discover what the new "Snip!" and “Snap!" cards will be.
Check out my other sight words fun game called "Zip! Zap!" with 24 sets of games. And there's also the series "Flip! Flap!" which works with 24 sets of Fry Phrases.
