I've taken the thousand most used words in the English language and broken them up into 50 word chunks. I play the slideshow on my projector during our fluency practice time. Each slide lasts one second in order to build sight word fluency. Review the words before hand, or listen to your students read the words and then review the words they pronounce incorrectly. Takes less than a minute but gives your students the practice they need. Daily practice improves reading fluency, spelling, writing, and comprehension.
Additionally, the slides could be printed out in order to create a growing word wall, and the blank white space surrounding each word is perfect for adding definitions or pictures to help with the comprehension of the word.
