This assignment was designed with my advanced art class in mind, the final visual art course before Advanced Placement (AP) art. It gives the students a chance to see what AP Art is like, and better prepare for it, by developing a mini concentration of three works of art.
Through the process the students develop a list of concentration ideas, a good tool to use once they hit AP Art. If they end up taking AP Art and still like their mini concentration, they already have three out of the twelve pieces complete.
This mini concentration lesson pack includes a PowerPoint, with examples and concentration explanations, in depth lesson plan, with essential questions, national standards, day by day implementation, and supply list, project rubric, critique and display sheet, and sketchbook assignment.
**If using for AP Art, cut the timeline in half to 3 weeks, rather than 6, to complete the assignment.**
