This minimal setup assignment is a great lesson for your students to complete while you are out! Just have the pdf printout ready for your students, and have the substitute open the graphing program file on the classroom screen, and that's it! From there the lesson is self-explanatory, with easy-to-understand instructions for the sub and students to follow!
The zip file download includes a printable pdf file, an answer sheet pdf file, and an interactive graphing GeoGebra file.
The freeware program GeoGebra must be installed to your computer for the file to open (visit geogebra.org and click downloads. "GeoGebra Classic 5" works best).
Once the file is up and running, you, the substitute, or the students themselves can adjust different values on the graphing program to view how different signs and exponent values affect the end behavior of a function. The questions are designed in a logical order, so the students are able to easily understand the causes of different end behaviors.
