Teach 3 Types of Irony with this modern, engaging Common Core Lesson. This BUNDLE includes a multimedia presentation, TED Ed videos, Practice Test, Final Test, and Common Core Lesson Plan.
Verbal, Situational, & Dramatic Irony - modern multimedia lesson that appeals to teens with a common core lesson plan that appeals to teachers.
The presentation has high quality videos; music / song lyrics; examples that make you laugh; student friendly explanations; and a practice quiz with NO PRINTING REQUIRED! The final test is multiple choice for Fast Grading.
This is my favorite lesson on irony. The lesson takes a full 55 minute class period, possibly two periods. Students copy down the definition for irony and then delve deeper with the three types of irony. Easy to understand explanations and examples make these higher level thinking ideas accessible.
Students read and see examples from song lyrics, videos, images, jokes, and stories.
After the definition and explanation of each type of irony is a 'click-on' link to a TED ED video that reinforces each specific irony concept.
And of course everything at Teacher's Best is FULLY EDITABLE so you can customize if desired.
