Description: Helping students maintain a growth mindset can be challenging, especially once they enter high school. Sometimes the daily grind hides how much growth students are making, so it's important to help students realize how much they are growing as writers. This product helps high school English students chart their progress in writing and grammar. Maybe it seems silly to have data sheets and a data wall in high school, but I have found that using data sheets weekly or bi-weekly helps keep students focused on growth.
Uses: Have students keep these data sheets in their class folders or binders. After every piece of writing or after every grammar quiz, have them update the sheets and set a goal for next week. By the end of the year, each student will have a graph of his or her progress. You can follow along with a matching data wall and track class averages. For grades 6-12. Designed for the ELA classroom.
Product includes PDF so you can just print and use instantly. Product also includes a fully editable Microsoft Excel spreadsheet so you can customize the data sheets to meet the needs of your classroom.
Updated for the 2018-19 school year!
