This project can actually be used in any area. I got the idea when I was studying William Glasser. One thing my students struggle with is picking up surface knowledge about the subjects they are learning. This project forces students to pick out the most important information from each chapter they learn and to rewrite it in their own words.. It also encourages them to look at other sources besides their textbooks to gain information. Every time I assign this project I am thoroughly impressed with the quality of work. As an added bonus, my students from prior years get to see the condensed version written by a teen. Then they know that they can learn this complex subject matter, too!
