Students will read an excerpt from chapter 10 of Frederick Douglass' The Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass in which Douglass recounts some of his dramatic struggles with life as a slave.
The excerpt is followed by three multiple choice question and five open-ended questions. In addition to the answer to the multiple choice questions, the answer key also has explanations and possible responses to the open-ended questions.
The questions that follow the passage test a variety of reading comprehension and literary analysis skills. Students who regularly complete these reading comprehension tasks will be well prepared for any reading comprehension test, including common core, ACT and SAT.
