This package of Statistics Assessments follows the Book “Elementary Statistics: Picturing the World” by Larson and Farber.
This package includes assessments for chapter 1-10 covering the basics of statistics, probability, sampling, linear regression, confidence intervals, hypothesis testing, and chi-square. In addition, a final exam is included. This set of assessments can easily be modified to other text books.
Each chapter provides you with the Word Document and PDF Document for the assessment as well as a PDF Key.
The total number of Word Document pages is 34.
You can easily edit the content of these documents to suit your own classroom.
The format of the assessments is situational and open ended. The page will start by providing information in the context of a real world problem. Questions start at the conceptual level and progress to the level of interpretation and modification (Higher levels of Bloom’s Taxonomy).
Students calculate meaningful statistics and make conclusions about the real world situation in their responses. This format is similar to the extended response questions found on the AP Statistics Exam. The goal is that students find the course applicable to the real world and not just a series of complicated formulas.
