Ensure that students are engaged on all levels of their cognition as they respond to their reading. This form engages students on all Bloom's levels and encourages high-quality responses that show a student has really read the text and that they are comprehending what they have read. This form would be a great discussion aid as students gather for a book club discussion or to meet in guided reading groups. Students need to be explicitly taught how to use the response form, and should be properly supported before completing independently.
