"SURF Through A Good Book" (Silent, Uninterrupted Reading Fun)
I use this set of question cards for my students' partner sharing after they finish reading a book. Each set of questions matches a comprehension skill that students need to master for their state testing. The majority of the questions use FCAT vocabulary and are modeled after FCAT question stems.
1. Set a purpose for reading.
2. Students find a partner and the set of questions that matches the focus.
3. Each student takes a turn asking the other questions about their book.
4. Teach walks around monitoring.
