A graffiti wall activity is a cooperative learning activity that gets students up and moving around the classroom. Tape or hang several large pieces of flip chart paper around the classroom, and affix each of the images or excerpts in this document to a piece of the flip chart paper. Make sure your students have writing utensils, and break them into small groups (2-4 students works best, but it can be done with larger groups). Have the groups start at a poster, and give them a couple of minutes to examine it and write their reactions to it directly on the flip chart paper. Every couple of minutes, rotate the groups until each group has been to every piece of flip chart paper. Have a whole-group discussion at the end about what they learned and observed.
This is a great activity for introducing new content to students! It gives them kind of a "snippet" preview into what they'll be learning!
