Product Description
What better way to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month than with a scavenger hunt! I've created an image one one page and a second page with a biography with citation for the much loved Selena, Carmelo Anthony, Sonia Sotomayor, Sandra Cisneros, Roberto Clemente, Loreta Janeta Velazquez, Cesar Chavez, Frida Kahlo, and Salvador Dali. I've used this as a way to engage and facilitate learning for an entire wing in my large inner city school decorating the halls, celebrating diversity, celebrating culture, celebrating the success of these nine incredibly talented individuals. If you are lucky enough to teach with a Latino population, this is wonderful way to celebrate the positive in their cultures, too. But, even in a suburban population, these nine Latinos are key players in the American experience and build background knowledge in the arts, in government, politics, music, athletics, and Civil War history. This is a simple click for you, post, and engage your students, impress you principal, include in your year-end portfolio, facilitate cross-curricular participation, and most of all, learning in a fun and exciting way! I like to give extra credit points or, if allowed in your school, a small treat as a reward. Have fun and kudos to the contributions we all benefit from in these exemplary Hispanic Americans. Laminate and use for next year, too! Best, Rockermom
